FOURLIS Group has published, for a 14th consecutive year, the Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility Report, for the financial year 2022. The report presents the actions and initiatives of the Group in the context of Sustainable Development, Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility (ESG).
The Report reflects the Group's commitment to achieving measurable results across its broader strategy in the context of its economic, social, corporate and environmental impacts.
It is worth mentioning that, for the first time, the total greenhouse gas emissions for FOURLIS Group companies in Greece are recorded, as well as the reduction of food waste in the restaurants of IKEA stores, by 26 tons, which correspond to 111 tons of CO2e and 65,055 meals.
The report has been prepared in accordance with the GRI Standards 2021 and with the Athens Stock Exchange ESG Reporting Guide (2022), while at the same time it constitutes the Communication on Progress Report, in terms of compliance with the ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the largest international voluntary initiative for responsible business action, to which FOURLIS Group is an official member since 2008. The Group is also a founding member of the UN GLOBAL COMPACT HELLAS network.
Mrs. Lyda Fourlis, Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility Director, said: "At FOURLIS Group, for almost 75 years, we have been moving forward with sustainability and Corporate Responsibility in mind. Along the way, we have been called upon to face adverse conditions such as the effects of the unstable geopolitical chessboard and the crisis of the markets that we faced in 2022 and we are still facing. Despite any difficulties, we continue to operate guided by our Principles, Respect, Integrity, Efficiency and with the aim of realizing our vision, which is to create a better world for everyone".
The Report is addressed to all interested parties of FOURLIS Group and to all those interested in the Group's approach and performance in these matters. FOURLIS Group Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility Department was responsible for the creation of the Report. The Report received external assurance (limited assurance) from the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Services Department of EY Greece.
