11 volunteering actions were organized in 2023, by FOURLIS Group Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility Department, within the framework of FOURLIS Group's Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility Program and specifically the "Volunteer Day" institution, which is implemented annually for the Group's employees. Most of the actions were proposed and implemented by Group employees in Greece and Bulgaria.
Mrs. Lyda Fourlis, FOURLIS Group Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility Director pointed out: " FOURLIS Group, firmly maintaining its values and principles, continues to function as an integral member of the society and implements actions that reflect the organization's and its employees’ continuous commitment towards society and the environment, with the aim of creating a better life for everyone".
Some of the actions implemented are: Voluntary blood donation in Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria as well as participation in the action BECOME A SALESMAN FOR 1 HOUR, helping Shedia’s vendors, who are people that belong to vulnerable groups, to sell the street paper Shedia in Athens and Thessaloniki. Participation in the action BOROUME IN THE PUBLIC MARKET in collaboration with BOROUME organization in Chalandri and Moschato for the collection of food, from the producers, which was offered to the Psaraftio Foundation and the Hope Lighthouse respectively. Cooperation with the Organization Earth, through the BOROUME Organization, for the preparation of meals offered to the Holy Metropolis of Ilio, Kamatero and Petroupoli. IKEA Ioannina employees visited the Pediatric Clinic of the University Hospital of Ioannina to offer entertainment and gifts to the hospitalized children.
In the context of environmental protection, the cleaning of Platia Ammos beach in Agia was carried out by IKEA employees in Larissa, in collaboration with the Municipality, and the cleaning of Angelochori beach was carried out by IKEA employees in Thessaloniki.
FOURLIS Group employees in Bulgaria participated in the renovation of the library of the FOR OUR CHILDREN foundation, proceeded to the cleaning of the Kraimorie beach in Burgas and took care of stray dogs.
As a capstone of the year's actions, all Group employees in all countries, collected, as every year, food and other necessities that were offered to people in need.
FOURLIS Group will continue to organize actions aimed at promoting volunteering, strengthening the culture of employee awareness on the importance of supporting people and protecting the environment, as well as strengthening the relationships between them.
