Communication is at the heart of the group, whether it is for our customers or our people. We recognize its value and its decisive role in our success and thus we ensure daily through our actions that we encourage our people to communicate, to be informed, to exchange opinions and share ideas and goals.
Through the Employee Engagement Survey, we evaluate our efforts and together with our people we plan initiatives for action that will contribute to their further satisfaction.
With technology as our ally, we offer our employees the latest tools that help in the immediate dissemination of information, enhance communication and contribute to becoming better and even more effective. The Digital E-employee experience includes, among others:
The Development of our people is of primary importance to the group and is a key component of our philosophy and success.
Our group implements an Annual Performance & Development Assessment process, through which the skills and behaviors of our employees are assessed, a Skills Development Plan is defined with specific actions that are implemented throughout the year, the unique talents of our people are highlighted, and their Dynamics (potential) is examined.
In addition, for the group team leader executives, we have also established the 360◦ Assessment Process. The 360◦ Assessment is a self-improvement tool that contributes to understanding needs, identifying strengths and areas for improvement and therefore to strengthening cooperation and the personal development of our executives.
Through the Open Staffing Policy that we implement, we give priority to our own employees to express interest in open positions that exist in our companies, while every year we review and renew the Executive Succession Plan and prepare our people for future jobs in the group.
The training courses, which are annually updated, are developed in four pillars:
All employees of the group are members of the group's Knowledge & Development Academy, “Fourlis Learning Academy” and participate in programs according to the requirements of their role and their needs for personal development. The educational programs are implemented in person, but also remotely through the e-learning platform.
We have a moral duty to recognize and reward our people’s contribution, dedication and contribution to our success, but also to support them and their families in any way we can. For this reason, we have established and are implementing a series of actions, offering value to all our people.
Issues related to the Health, Safety and Well-being of our employees are of vital importance for the daily work and protection of our people.
We comply as a minimum with the Legislation defined by each country in the context of Employee Health & Safety and we apply a strict Policy by constantly carrying out intensive inspections in all the group's facilities and stores, identifying potential risks (through Occupational Risk Studies) and proceeding with the implementation of corrective & improvement actions.
In addition, the group invests in the continuous and regular training of all employees so that they can respond to emergency situations that affect both the safety of themselves and of customers and visitors to our stores. We indicate, for example, the conduct of regular fire safety and evacuation drills in stores and head offices and the training of First Aid Teams & Fire Safety Teams.
The “EF ZIN” (Well-being) program was launched by the Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility Division in 2010, with the main objective to inform employees on health and well-being issues and to encourage them to adopt a healthier lifestyle. In the context of “EF ZIN” program, actions regarding healthy diet, health and prevention, exercise, etc., are annually organized:
In addition, the group organizes actions to promote volunteerism and awareness among employees, regarding the importance of giving to others and protecting the environment:

Through our participation in the United Nations Global Compact, we are officially committed to respecting the diversity of our people and to adhering to all the principles concerning the protection of Human Rights at work. Since 2021, we have signed the Diversity Charter in Greece, further strengthening our commitment to combating discrimination and promoting equal rights in the workplace. The Diversity Charter has been signed by all companies and in all countries of operation of the group. The Policies we establish and the initiatives we undertake also focus on Diversity and Inclusion issues. For 2024, our initiatives focused on Inclusive Leadership, Gender Equality and People with Disabilities.
